Locatedin Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college,offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses inWellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:
The idealcandidate will join a vibrant educational community and have a desire andability to serve a population of students with various needs andbackgrounds.
The candidateis expected to commit to excellence in teaching and learning, collaboration andprofessional development. Adjunctfaculty are expected to deliver course materials in a learner-centeredenvironment conductive to engaging students in the learning process. Thefaculty member in this position communicates consistently and effectively withstudents, faculty and administrators, and responds to communications within a24 hour period. The faculty is responsible for managing this course throughtimely grading of assignments, providing substantial student feedback withassignments, and submission of clinical evaluations, attendance and grades.
MassBay Community College seeks qualified part-time instructors in Nursing. Theinstructor must have clinical experience, communicate effectively, assessstudents objectively, and work as part of a team. Instructor responsibilitiesinclude supervising Practical Nursing and/or Associate Degree Nursing studentsin the clinical setting; guidance in completing assignments such as dailyclinical worksheets, concept maps, and care plans; and conducting studentevaluations.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Demonstrates knowledge of subject matter and an awareness of new developments in the field;
- Integrates theory content into the student(s) clinical assignment;
- Communicate with course faculty regularly to track student progress or to develop performance improvement plans to support student learning;
- Responsible for conducting clinical evaluations;
- Assigns, supervises, plans experiences, and evaluates students in practice learning environments based on course and program student learning outcomes;
- Provides support, guidance, and instruction on all aspects of patient care while at the clinical facility or laboratory classroom;
- Demonstrates procedures and patient care in clinical or laboratory nursing settings;
- Provide feedback to the assistant dean of nursing, program director, and clinical placement coordinator on the appropriateness of the health care agency in terms of teaching/learning environments for students;
- Provides feedback on student achievement of student learning outcomes;
- Attend orientation on campus;
- Participate in clinical faculty mentoring as identified by the Assistant Dean of Nursing and course faculty;
- Participate in the Programs' continuous improvement efforts, which include BORN and ACEN requirements;
- Maintain appropriate paperwork and documentation required by the programs.

MinimumQualifications:
- Current unencumbered Massachusetts RN license;
- Recent clinical practice in relevant areas: All areas of nursing are encouraged to apply;
- Must meet one of the following requirements:
- MSN with a minimum of 2 years nursing experience; or
- BSN with 2 years of nursing experience and matriculated in an MSN program with expected graduation within 5 years; or
- BSN and a minimum of five years of full-time experience in nursing, or its equivalent and evidence of clinical competence in the area(s) of clinical instruction;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body;
- Clinical teaching experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action;
- Experience working in a community college or similar environment;
- Demonstrates commitment to working with students in need.

Salary Range: $72.64- $82.83 DCE Per Credit
Classification: DCE-Adjunct
