Camp Skylemar is hiring nurses to work at a premier overnight summer camp in Maine. If you are a Registered Nurse or LPN looking to provide care to children this summer, this is the job for you! Nurses live onsite and manage the Health Center, providing top quality care to campers and staff for the duration of the summer. Camp Skylemar is a 7-week sports-oriented program in Maine that brings together college students, coaches, nurses, and teachers who hope to positively impact the next generation. Staff orientation and weekly in-service training sessions provide a strong foundation to assume summer responsibilities.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide medical care to the camp community. Including weekly health checks.
- Regularly communicate health and safety tips to campers and staff, including visiting bunks and monitoring the overall well-being of campers and counselors.
- Organize daily distribution and administration of medicine to campers and staff.
- Ensure allergies are handled safely.
- Manage inventory of medical supplies.
- Occasionally, act as an overnight nurse.
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, treatments, and incident reports.
- Prepare first aid medical kits for weekly off-site trips and overnights.
- Oversee postseason closing of Health Center.
Qualifications:
- Must be a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or LPN
- Experience working in a school or pediatrics preferred.
- Experience working on a team or collaborative environment.
Compensation & Perks:
Starting salary of $1,000.00 a week based on experience and certifications (RN or LPN). Private housing is provided as well as round-trip travel expenses.
