Position Summary:
Arkansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a 12-month, full time, Director of Clinical Programs.
This will be a predominantly administrative position (>90%), providing direct oversight of veterinary clinical courses, including student, veterinary practice, and clinical educator performance in the DVM program.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Directs training, assessment, and organization of clinical courses
Coordinates, trains, and leads hub liaisons
Recruits and select clinical practice sites
Maintains clinical and student handbook
Ensures timely and continuous feedback between sites, students, lead veterinarians, and hub liaisons
Reviews & provides clinical site, lead veterinarian, and hub liaison training
Convenes meetings with hub liaisons & lead veterinarians regularly
Determines appropriate response to areas of improvement for Primary Clinical Educators, veterinarians and staff
Conducts needs assessment with the Associate Dean and other administration making continuous adjustments and improvements
Works to continuously improve student learning experience
Provides oversight of course content delivery and student requirements - insures adequacy of case load and case diversity
Communicates immediately unsatisfactory progress of students to Associate Dean for Clinical Programs
Participates in and co-delivers clinical practice site training
Provides input to Associate Dean for Clinical Programs regarding clinical sites
Works to continuously improve courses, clinical sites, and primary clinical educator training
Coordinate public events (exhibit booths, meetings, etc.)
Coordinates with communications coordinator to create and distribute messaging regarding clinical programs (social media and newsletters)
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty and staff. Ability to communicate effectively across CVM stakeholders. Ability to prioritize tasks, deliver results in a timely manner, and function independently.
General Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Additional hours as requested and/or needed Regular and reliable attendance
Other:
Regular travel across Arkansas and the Mid-South will be required

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must have an earned DVM and at least two (2) years of experience in clinical practice.
One year experience in academic setting or managing a hospital preferred.
Prior teaching experience preferred.
An equivalent combination of years of experience and education may be considered for substitution of educational requirements.
